Homer Laughlin Eggshell Patterns
Vintage Homer Laughlin Eggshell Georgian, Nautilus, Cavalier and Swing Replacements
The Homer Laughlin Eggshell Shapes were sold throughout the late 30's, 40's and 50's at Sears, Montgomery Wards and other big name departments stores.
With European China scarce during and right after the war, Homer Laughlin and other US Potteries took full advantage and HLC introduced the Eggshell lines. At the time - the market potential seemed unlimited. However, starting in the mid 50's -as the rest of the world economies finally recovered from the ravages of war - imported china from Asia and other places flooded the US markets - kicking off the slow, eventual decline of the American China industry.
