How about the Homer Laughlin Republic Shape?
Everyone collects the popular Shapes and Patterns like Virginia Rose and the Homer Laughlin Eggshell Shapes... How about Republic or Marigold? Republic dates from 1917 and Marigold was introduced in the thirties around the same time as Virginia Rose.
Republic was produced in a limited amount of patterns for over 40 years while Marigold was produced for about half of that time. Both were very popular in their day, but were overshadowed by success of Virginia Rose and other Patterns and Shapes at the time.
Production numbers and the limited amount of pieces still surviving today reflect that. However, that is music to the serious collector's ears as that means potential long-term opportunities and makes for a fun challenge hunting for matching pieces to fill out your collection.
