Darcy
This pattern features arrangement of small pink and orange roses, blue flowers, and wispy green leaves with one rose trailing down in the middle of the spray. Very interesting and fascinating to study.
If you are a Homer Laughlin Collector or Fan - look at the pictures again... This is the same decal that was used on the Eggshell "Georgian" Countess Pattern. Georgian Countess was produced in large quantity from the late 30's through the early 60's and is relatively easy to find today.
Toward the end of the Production runs for the Eggshell lines, (mid to late 50's) for whatever reason - they started using the Georgian Countess Decal on pieces from the Nautilus line. The resulting Nautilus Pattern was called "Darcy" and was produced in very, very limited quantities over the next several years. This piece is an excellent example of that beautiful Pattern on the Nautilus "Shape".
Anything with the Nautilus Darcy Pattern is very Rare and hard-to-find today. When a Darcy piece is found - it is often mixed with or part of a Georgian Countess set, but aside from the Georgian and Nautilus Shape differences, (embossing, etc.) the Darcy is always clearly stamped with a mid-50's Eggshell Nautilus Stamp.
