A beautiful Royal China Currier & Ives Platter or Tabbed Cake Plate 11 1/2 inches. "The Rocky Mountains" pattern. During the 1950's the Currier & Ives pattern was given away as premiums through the A & P stores and Winn-Dixie. It was produced up until the Royal China company closed in 1986. Also, while the majority of the Currier & Ives is found in blue on white, it can also be found in pink, green or brown on white and there are also color variations and different scenes found in the blue. This is the ultimate collectible Dinnerware - collected since the 50's and still very popular today.
Condition: Excellent Vintage Preowned. Very beautiful and in great condition! NO chips, cracks or Crazing.
The Royal China Company manufactured dinnerware in Sebring, Ohio from 1934 to 1986. The company had various owners after 1969 including the Jeanette Glass Corporation and Coca-Cola. They produced a large variety of dinnerware patterns (over 1400). The most popular being this blue and white Currier & Ives.
Other recognizable Royal China patterns include Memory Lane, Colonial Homestead, Willow Ware, The Old Curiosity Shop, Fair Oaks, and Bucks County. They also produced numerous serving pieces as well as advertising and decorative pieces to compliment the dinnerware. Royal China sold the dinnerware through retail department stores, catalog mail order houses and supermarket chains.
